The Problem

Multiple leak paths were identified on the installations drain system due to servere corrosion.

 

Our client enquired if we could generate isometrics to replace the system in a short time frame to enable changeout during the impending shutdown.

The Solution

  • A full site laser scan survey and theodolite survey was undertaken to determine the tie in locations for the new spools.
  • After integrating the laser scan survey data into CAD, 3D models were built arount the existing infrastructure.
  • All materials were defined in accordance with the piping class manuals and industry codes and standards.
  • Close liason with the fabricators ensured that the relevant materials were ordered in time to enable fabrication of the drains system ahead of the shutdown commencing and full MTO was provided.
  • A full workpack was generated including destruct and construct P&ID’s, Isometrics, Bolted joint parameters, client specific instructions and procedures were also incorporated into the workpacks to minimise the workload on the offshore construction manager during the major shutdown

  • The laser scan data integrated with CAD ensured that the fabricated spools integrated seamlessly with the existing tie in points.
  • The provision of the workpacks including client procedures and documentation reduces the workload for the client during busy shutdown activities.
  • O3D were tasked with very short notice to deliver the scope of work that the client required. The whole project was delivered with a rapid turnaround.
